The Story

WINE DESCRIPTION: Red wine of matured aromas of riped forest fruit, dry plums and jams. On the palate and nose smoky notes are present. On the palate rich minerality. Medium bodied. The wine is drinkable now but also suitable for aging (2-3 years).

VINEYARD: Pliska (1.0 ha, altitude 170 m a.s.l.) 5500 vines/ha, average plant age 3 years, single guyot training system.

SOIL: flish, clay

WINE YIELD: 30 hL/ha

HARVESTING: hand picked

BOTTLING: April 2016

PRODUCTION: 300 cases

WINE TECHNOLOGY: The wine of young vines, bad vintage, but rich and well matured grapes.Before maceration a part of the must is taken away to concentrate the tannins and colours. Two days of cold maceration is followed by 7 days of skin contact fermentation. The wine is aged for 16 months in Slavonian oak barrique berrels. Controlled Malolactic fermentation and 6 months of active batonaging.

Recommended to all kind of white meat, grilled fishes and aromatic cheeses.

A very nice, fresh Pinot Noir. Forest fruit all over the palate, not too smoky and woody, must be a great accompaniment to fish and white meat. Great value for the price.
