Wine is smooth, fresh, medium bodied, fruity. Notes of ripe apple, vanilla, bread crust. The wine combines Pinot gris’ and Sauvignon’ freshness with chardonnay body. Oak acts as spice and is not intertwined with buttery notes usually expected in oak barrel aged wine. Hence the name Nostra – a combination od our varieties and freshness characteristic for our wines.
First half of fermentation in stainless steel tank, second half in a new Slavonian oak barrique barrel (30% new). 6 months of active batonnage.
ALCOHOL: 13.5 vol. %
FOOD AND WINE: Recommended with all spicy seafood, pastas and risottos, also well with white meat.
WEATHER CHARACTERISTICS OF VINTAGES: Early spring and budding at the end of March. Early flowering, followed by optimal conditions for the development of berries until ripening at the end of July. The ripening was slightly slowed by the arid August, but the harvest began in late August. A rare example of a straight, determined vintage with no major stress. Nature is generous everywhere, so the vintage is recognizable in quality and quantity and in the lack of vessels. Harvesting of mid-early varieties in the middle and late varieties in late September. Finish of the harvest on October 4.
